Pratt Rock, known as the Mount Rushmore of New York, is an extraordinary natural monument that whispers tales of history. Located in our very own town of Prattsville, this iconic landmark is more than just a rock—it's a captivating canvas etched with stories waiting to be discovered.

Picture this: a massive rock rising proudly amidst a picturesque landscape, covered in intricate carvings that stretch back to the 19th century. Pratt Rock stands as a testament to the vision and creativity of Zadock Pratt, a local entrepreneur and politician, who had a dream of immortalizing his legacy for generations to come.

You can see the top of the falls with just a quick 5 minute walk down some stairs to see the upper falls from a viewing deck.

For a majestic experience, hike all the way down to the lower level of the falls where you’ll experience the sound of rushing water into a pool of crystal clear water. Right next to the falls is a beautifully covered wall of moss with trickling water.

It’s a kid friendly hike and is definitely one of our favorites! It’s located in Mine Kill State Park and has many other opportunities for other hikes and fun activities, including a free community pool!
